Vehicle Seized for No Insurance – Rural West |
||
|
I would like to update residents that on TUESDAY 20TH OCTOBER 2026 whilst carrying out proactive patrols within the Rural West area of Hartlepool, I stopped a vehicle which was subsequently found to be being driven without valid insurance. As a result of enquiries carried out at the roadside, the vehicle was seized under Section 165A of the Road Traffic Act and removed from the area. Driving without insurance is not a victimless offence. It places other road users at risk and can have serious consequences should a collision occur. Proactive patrols and vehicle checks will continue across Rural West as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and tackle offending. Thank you to residents who continue to report concerns and provide information to Cleveland Police. Your support plays an important role in helping us keep our communities safe. PC Connor Bide
